Ten years ago, Lana and Nikita married without the chance to celebrate - youth, as it often does, set other priorities. On their tenth anniversary, they chose to mark their marriage on their dream plane, in the backyard where much of their life together has unfolded, tucked into the backcountry of southwestern Idaho. This is home. It was a quiet afternoon shaped by the years in between: two children, home purchases, and an aviation business built one hangar at a time. Watching them there, the openness of the land, the stillness of the reservoir, the two of them standing on top of their plane felt incredible. Photographing it felt different for me, not only as their photographer, but as Lana’s older sister.
